The Role As a Staff Scientist, you will support our client’s product development activities, including those that require regulatory approval, such as CE-IVD or AOAC. In this key role, you will support customers from many different industries, including academia, research, healthcare, food and the veterinary industries. Specifically, you will: – Take supported study lead responsibilities for AOAC, CE-IVD and RUO research projects – Provide technical support to customers and colleagues – Support manufacturing activities from an R&D perspective – Promote and support compliance with the QMS – Take part in customer visits, customer training and product demonstrations About You To be considered as a Staff Scientist, you will need: – At a minimum, a master’s degree in a related scientific field and at least two years’ experience within a similar role in industry – Previous PCR knowledge and hands-on experience – The ability to plan experiments, solve problems and progress projects independently – Excellent organisational skills and outstanding attention to detail – The ability to work well within a team – Great written and verbal communication skills A PhD in a related field would be beneficial, as would experience of working within a quality system, such as ISO 13485. Experience of any of the following would also be an advantage: scientific product development or creating complex study designs, statistical data analysis, or handling Hazard Group 2 organisms in a Category 2 laboratory.
